After seeing Val’s expression when he saw Tauni for the first time, as she was walking down the aisle, I didn’t think either of them would make it through the ceremony without completely breaking down. Luckily the ceremony was humorous too. At least when Tauni tried to put Val’s ring on the wrong finger. And the tears were replaced with laughter.

Thank you for including us in your wedding plans. It was so fun to be a part of your day. You made us feel like an extension of your family and it’s much appreciated. Here are some favorites from your wedding!

Lindsey + Chris | The Bahia Resort Wedding

Lindsey and Chris’ wedding day was perfect. Sunshine, Mission Bay, a relaxed atmosphere. It definitely felt like vacation. It doesn’t surprise me. Lindsey and Chris are super easy going, laid back people. They laughed from their head table when wedding crashers tried to order drinks and party. (It also doesn’t surprise me that anyone wanted to crash their wedding. It was a crazy-fun dance party.) Being around them feels effortless. They planned an amazing day for their friends and family:

Heidi + Nick | San Diego State University Engagement Session

I love this session for several reasons.

1. When Heidi and Nick and I met months ago I fell in love with them.

2. They picked such a cool location!

3. Both Heidi and Nick attended SDSU but this was actually their first time on campus together. While Nick was finishing finals his senior year of college, Heidi was back at home getting organized to begin her freshman year there. They just missed each other. Life was undeterred in its attempt to put them together. When the stars aligned and they did meet, off campus, and chatted later on – they realized they were living within a mile or two of each other. Life has a funny way of making sure everything falls into place. They know this.

Thank you both for choosing me to be a part of this time in your lives. I feel so blessed. <3

Courtney + Randy | Wedgewood Fallbrook Wedding

Courtney and Randy’s wedding was filled with personal touches! From Grandma’s jewelry tied around Courtney’s bouquet to Randy making his and his groomsmen’s boutonnieres a lot of time and love went into the details. You can blame Pinterest if you’ve been missing Courtney over the past year! :) Everything came together beautifully. And I was honored to be included in your wedding!! Here are some of my favorites!

Katie + Jonathan | Levyland Estate Carlsbad Wedding Photos

Katie and Jonathan met on a cruise ship. They were each cruising with friends. The group spent many late nights together enjoying their vacations, playing poker, and dancing. They had caught each other’s attention but it was when Katie saw Jonathan laughing and dancing with an elderly cruise guest that her heart leapt. She dug her fingernails into her best friend’s knee and looked on in admiration.

Staying true to their travel themed romance, Jonathan proposed in the Atlanta airport just before they headed off to visit family, so a destination wedding in San Diego fit the bill.

Thank you both for trusting me with these memories for you. Editing your wedding brought back so many happy memories of the day for me so I sincerely hope they do the same for you. I appreciate how kind and welcoming you both were to me – a stranger.

A big, big thank you as well to Julie Scrivner, The Best Wedding For You. Julie is an awesome coordinator. There were tons of details and multiple locations and people to organize and the wedding went off without a hitch. Her husband Mick, with Elite British DJ, one of my favorite DJs kept the party going. Love getting to work with you both! Thank you for help. Pretty much everything else was DIY so my hat is off to Katie, Jonathan and their crew. Katie’s mom made all of the floral arrangements, Tim made the custom bar and arch at the ceremony site. One of Katie’s best friends made their cakes. I don’t know how many people strung lights, made lawn game boards, and contributed in other ways. We’re talking a lot of DIY. But it was all amazing and beautiful!!

Megan + Jason | Calvary Chapel Bible Fellowship Wedding / Temecula, CA

Sarah + Glenn | Wind an Sea La Jolla Engagement Session

I immediately fell in love with Sarah and Glenn. They are planning an intimate wedding at Estancia La Jolla later this year. They’re planning a celebration that’s true to who they are as a couple. I know the day will be special because the focus will be on their love and their guests. When we met several months ago I was tap dancing under the table while we met, hoping that I was the right fit for Sarah and Glenn because I knew I wanted to be there to document that day for them. Spending time with you both at your engagement session solidified that for me. Thank you for making me feel like an old friend. I had so much fun spending more time with you both and I cannot wait until October!

Amy + Matt | Pasadena Wedding

Amy and Matt planned their So Cal destination wedding at one of the most gorgeous churches I’ve ever seen, the Pasadena United Methodist Church. The whole day was beautiful, flowed smoothly and was full of laughter and positive energy.

Thank you, and your families for making Chelsea and me feel so welcomed. We felt like part of the family and it’s so appreciated. :) I hope you enjoyed the rest of your stay in sunny southern California and that these photos bring back lots of wonderful memories!!

Michelle + Ryan | Rainbow Farm Engagement Session

I met Michelle at a bridal show at her wedding venue. My husband came to help me with my booth and Michelle started chatting with Kosta trying to figure out how she knew him. It turns out we’ve all crossed paths before – Michelle’s fiance, Ryan, helps run the Hillcrest Farmers Market where my husband has a booth. When I first started out in my photography career I would help Kosta at his booth when I could so I have known Ryan casually for several years now. So I was beyond thrilled when Ryan and Michelle decided to book me to photograph their wedding. And I think I actually “squeeeed!” with excitement , clapped and did a little dance when Michelle emailed me saying they’d like to shoot their engagement photos at the family farm in Rainbow outside of Temecula. I LOVE when people pick a location that is different and meaningful to them. Thank you guys for being so fun. Michelle, I felt like we’ve been friends for years after a short (ish) car ride into the farm. Thank you for being amazing. I adore your photos. I hope you enjoy them:

Caitlin + Isaiah | Wind an Sea La Jolla Engagement

With a storm on it’s way in, Caitlin, Isaiah and I squeaked in their engagement photos at the beautiful Wind an Sea beach in La Jolla last night. It was a little windy and a little cold but the beach was nearly empty because of it and Caitlin and Isaiah were great sports. :) Thank you for hiking and climbing all over the place, laughing when that one wave caught us off guard, and sticking out our crazy weather. I was so so happy to meet you both. I’m ready for August!!! :)
